i'm reading "Warriors Don't Cry" and in it on page 52 of the unabridged edition Melba's reading an ad and they don't show a picture but the book says there's a caption under it and it reads "If you live in Arkansas study this picture and know shame. When hate is unleashed and bigotry finds a voice, God help us all."
and it says Melba finds joy in the ad so i guess that means hes defending black people just in case ure wondering.
So what is the message of this ad?
Can someone explain this Warriors Don't Cry quote?!?!?
I suppose the picture is of some form of discrimination which occured in Arkansas, and it is saying it would be a terrible thing if hate and bigotry were dominant or something. Heh.
Can someone explain this Warriors Don't Cry quote?!?!?
The picture was probably of a KKK rally or a KKK victim. The quote meant this is unforgivable and shameful and Melba found joy in it because someone had condemned the act.
