What are some books that have interesting stories like some graphic novels such as spider-man?

I really enjoy the stories of a lot of super heroe comics because of the plot, characters, and stories. But I just want to read a full novel with a story about it and not zoom through a comic book. I saw Captain America: The Great Gold Steal and I may check that out if I get my hands on it. The book doesn't have to be any character from the comics, I am just looking for a good read and comic characters have always been made interesting to me.





It would be great if the books were based on characters from comics that I knew but I would be happy reading about something else exciting.

Try any of Neil Gaiman's novels. They are a great read, and he writes comic books, so the novels could be of some interest to you. My favorite is 'American Gods'.
