What is the quote at the beginning of Breaking Dawn?

There is no quote at the beginning of Breaking Dawn because the book isn't out yet. Unless you're talking about the Special Edition. If you are, I don't know.

Good luck! But in Eclipse, it's the poem Fire and Ice by Robert Frost.
What is the quote at the beginning of Breaking Dawn?
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,

thou shalt not eat of it:

for in the day that thou eatest thereof

thou shalt surely die.

-Genesis 2:17
What is the quote at the beginning of Breaking Dawn?
is this what you mean

"Don't be afraid" I murmured.

"We belong together".

I was abruptly overwhelmed by the truth of my own words.

This moment was so perfect, so right.

There was no way to doubt it.

His arms wrapped around me,

holding me against him...

It felt like every nerve ending in my body was a live wire.

"Forever". he agreed.

Twilight or harry potter?

Which series do you prefer... Harry Potter or Twilight?? i prefer Harry Potter. and do you think Twilight will become the next Harry Potter? I say No. JK Rowling created a whole new world. There will be a next Twilight, but never in a long time, a next Harry Potter
Twilight or harry potter?
neither...sorry
Twilight or harry potter?
Harry Potter. I agree, Harry won't be replaced by Bella. It's kind of hard to create that kind of world.

Vampires have been used and even if you wanted to make them original you would still have to keep the skeleton of every vampire story. Wizards and Magic you can recreate in different ways though.
Reply:i'm with Twilight 100%
Reply:I love Twilight way more than Harry Potter. I read all of the books to both series and Twilight wins it for me. Hand down. Sorry. =)
Reply:i say harry potter is definatley better. it not only attracts all ages, but both genders. plus, the books are more detailed, and they dont just revolve around a few events, like twilight does.

hopefully it doesnt become the new harry potter [ doubt ]
Reply:I would say neither, because they seem to be in seperate genres.....
Reply:HP

T is not the next HP.
Reply:Harry Potter or Twilight . .

hmmmmmm

I'd say harry pot- . . .

Hah, yeah right!

Twilight all the way, baby!
Reply:Harry Potter. While it's hardly the most original work, JK Rowling created something that appeals to readers and touches their imaginations. Her characters are dynamic with various faults, strengths, and personal problems. While the novel takes place in an unfamiliar world of magic, there is something in every situation the reader can relate to. There is still a sense of realism that connects the reader to the story. Although I doubt Harry Potter will ever become a classic, Rowling's novel will survive throughout several generations because of its appeal to various age groups and the exciting tale it weaves.

Twilight, on the other hand, is more of a fad novel than one to be enjoyed for years to come. It is geared toward one group of people: teenage/middle school girls. This group is often changing from one extreme to the other from year to year. The book will fade out in a few years because of this. Meyer's characters tend to be two dimensional, dull, and just unrealistic. They are difficult, if not impossible, to relate to. It's all about love at first sight and romantic teenage fluff. As time passes, more fad books like Twilight will be created, forcing Twilight to fade into oblivion.

No, I don't belive Twilight will be the next Harry Potter. Like you said, JK Rowling created a whole new world full of interesting characters and exciting events. There's really nothing new about Twilight. It's cliche...it's been done before. It is going to be a long time before something as unique and wide sweeping as Harry Potter is created. The next Twilight will be created within the next year or so.
Reply:Twilight, defianantly.

I mean Harry Potter is pretty great but it's for younger readers, and not as deep and gripping as twilight. Edward is so just sooo...... one of a kind-never gonna find a guy like him person. I'm doomed, i compare everyone to him, so im probably never gonna fall in love again. :)

Only the best book in the world can do that to a girl.
Reply:Harry Potter!!!! 100%

Nope, I don't think Twilight will be the next Harry Potter...
Reply:TWILIGHT.
Reply:i like them both but 4 different reasons. i mean, Twilight wen i want, well, Edward. and harry potter when i want adventure and mystery and fun characters. i mean, Twilight is easier to read and, once again, has Edward, but Harry has been in my heart longer (disclaimer: i never fell in a swoon-ful love for harry or any of the characters. i just liked them. The cullens however...)

however, i disagree with ur statement of "there will be a next Twiilight..." because that book series is growing like crazy! as 4 hp, its over. i mean, it was fabulous, but its done. and everyone who would read it, probably has. Twilight, however, is still recommendable because there are still millions of people who havent even heard of it. But everyone knows about harry potter. and thats just one of those books where either you read it, or you choose not to and move on. Harry potter is slowly fading away. it's sad but true. Twilight, however, is getting stronger each sale. i mean, if you want to think of it that way.

But i love them, well, not equally, but differently. (and i think Neville is awesome)

;-)
Reply:Most definitely Harry Potter series. J.K Rowling created a fantastic book series that is just in a class of its own. It's probably one the best fantasy novels ever written, and that's saying something when you consider that there are classics like The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien and The Chronicles of Narnia by Lewis. I think that the Twilight series is great, but it's no where near as popular and interesting as Harry Potter, and it will never be better.

HP rocks!!!

:)

Can someone explain this Warriors Don't Cry quote?!?!?

i'm reading "Warriors Don't Cry" and in it on page 52 of the unabridged edition Melba's reading an ad and they don't show a picture but the book says there's a caption under it and it reads "If you live in Arkansas study this picture and know shame. When hate is unleashed and bigotry finds a voice, God help us all."

and it says Melba finds joy in the ad so i guess that means hes defending black people just in case ure wondering.

So what is the message of this ad?
Can someone explain this Warriors Don't Cry quote?!?!?
I suppose the picture is of some form of discrimination which occured in Arkansas, and it is saying it would be a terrible thing if hate and bigotry were dominant or something. Heh.
Can someone explain this Warriors Don't Cry quote?!?!?
The picture was probably of a KKK rally or a KKK victim. The quote meant this is unforgivable and shameful and Melba found joy in it because someone had condemned the act.

Would you recommend getting a diary?

sure, it helps people to get things out of their system by writing. Like if they dont have any one to talk to or they dont want to talk about it they can just write about it.
Would you recommend getting a diary?
yes

why??

well, lets say i wrote in a diary when i was in elementary school, then in high school, i might say" wow, i really used to crush on that ugly boy??" and i mean its so fun to look, just like baby pictures.

SO yes i would recommend a diary, mostly in childhood days.
Would you recommend getting a diary?
well, do you have a lot of thoughts? do you have somewhere to hide it? would you be destroyed if someone found it? would it help you?

I had a diary and right before night, just writing down my cares and worries helped me sleep better. also, my attention wasn't on something else during the day. but, my sister found it, and i felt she found out everything about me that i just wanted left alone......ultimately, it's up to you
Reply:totally, its a thing you can vent to , and not get in trouble for!
Reply:Of course, if you want. Writing down what you do every day can be soothing, it can help solve problems... etc.

I myself prefer to keep an art journal (basically just a sketchbook) - I think I'm better at getting my thoughts out through visuals rather than words. Though, I don't really use it to express my thoughts; it's more of a place to experiment with new techniques, start sketches, that sort of thing.

There's all kinds of diaries/journals, too, besides the normal writing ones and the art one that I mentioned. You can keep a dream journal; instead of writing in a diary you can keep an audio diary (record what you would normally write in a diary onto a CD, or casette [do they still make casettes? haha]); you can keep a video diary.... there's virtually unlimited kinds of diaries.

Anyways -- sorry for getting off on a tangent -- get and keep a diary if you wish. It's your own personal preference. =)
Reply:I really recommend one. You can express your feelings. You can put down all the activities or vacations you have been on in your life. You can look back and remember everything, you have done. It really is good. You can write rumors, and get everything bad out. Just don't show anybody. Get a diary with a lock.!!
Reply:I would definately recommend getting a diary and writing in it every day. It really helps get rid of some of the pent up emotions that are nagging at you. Also, if you have a sudden inspiration for a project, song, poem, etc., a diary can help organize them. I have been keeping a diary ever since I was 7 years old! It's really fun looking back and reading about the little stuff that I thought was a HUGE deal, or the guys that I liked, or whatever.
Reply:i've tried but have never been able to keep one... but it does help you relieve stress
Reply:yes it helps you what haapened so you can luagh back on it which reminds me i need to go write in mine

elizabeth
Reply:I highly recommend that you start keeping a diary.

Don't listen to ppl who say diaries are lame.

There are so many benefits! Really!

1. You can improve your writing skills (or not, depending. I don't usually concentrate on writing well, and use short terms etc. in my writing, but it can still help).

2. It is an awesome keepsake. I started writing in one when I was in Gr. 1 up 'till now and when I go back I have to laugh. My spelling was atrocious. School was hilarious. I mean, the sort of fights I had with friends and what I thought was the end of the world - they all seemed so trivial.

3. It really helps store the memories through the point of view of yourself. Only you can know how it felt for you to go through whatever moment it was.

4. It helps you vent and get your feelings out. Once you put them down on paper you might, a) feel better or b) realize that whatever it is isn't serious or c) find a solution.

5. You can figure stuff out about yourself that you didn't know before.

6. It is all yours. Your secret. Just make sure no one else peaks!

7. You can make it unique. I like making lists and pasting cut-outs in. For me, it's like half a scrapbook. Ticket stubs, cut-out of magazine stuff for borders etc.

And, once you start you might realize you like it. Plus, what's wrong with giving it a try? What's there to lose! Try it yourself and figure it out yourself (whether it was worth it or not).

Good luck! Hope this helps!

The name Sam?

When you think of the name "Sam" for a teenage guy, what do you picture him looking like?
The name Sam?
I don't think you should.....stereotype? names to personalities, but in a book, probably....cheerful, funny, out- going.
The name Sam?
5'4", blonde hair and blue eyes. Ordinary but not popular. Friends are backstabbing and cannot be trusted.

This was the first thing I thought of. Sorry if it was not what you were looking for.
Reply:i dunno , maybe has a mushroom haircut with red hair........ athletic..... i have no idea honestly
Reply:Well, I think all of this will be biased from the Sam(s)' that they know.

I picture a "Sam" as relatively tall depending on age maybe 5'5 at younger teen years and near the end at 6'0 or so. Dark hair, brown eyes, not overweight, but stocky.
Reply:kind of the average joe, could be cool or nerdy, but heroric when needed.
Reply:I think of an average blonde guy wearing a sweater...for some reason. And he has many friends and is cheery.
Reply:Very tall. Around 6'5-6'7. Native American, long black hair. Brown eyes. Very muscular.

I may be biased though... =)
Reply:I picture one of my guy friends whose name is Sam. =)

If it helps you at all - he's tall, dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, normal weight, some muscle definition, pretty average looking overall (not in a bad way, though). Personality: outgoing; nice; sarcastic at times; likes pretty much every sport out there; has many friends and makes friends easily (friendly but not necessarily popular); usually optimistic, but some rotten stuff has happened to him, so he has his occasional moments of hopelessness.

Reply:I don't care for the series. Reading the books was more like a chore than a pleasure and if it wasn't for my devotion when it comes to reading, I would have given up on them after reading the first couple hundred pages of Twilight. I can understand why people like it, but it didn't appeal to me at all (it was the characters that really ruined it for me).
Reply:I was really annoyed from hearing everybody talk about this series. But one day, sick at a friends house with nothing to do, I picked up Twilight and was instantly hooked. I finished it in 2 days. I am absolutely in love with these books and the characters. I cant wait for breaking dawn!!!!
Reply:same
Reply:I think it's pretty crappy. Bella ruined it for me b/c she is a whiney, damsel in distress, weak female lead.

The only reason it's popular is because of Edward. He is made out to be so perfect.

I prefer stronger women. I like Rosalie. I wish Edward and Rosalie would have been together just like Carlisle hoped.
Reply:I love them! I'm currently trying to finish Eclipse today. I just finshed the other 2 last night and earlier today. So far my favorite of the 3 is Twilight. I just love all the romance Edward and Bella have in that one. The second one though... *shudders* All I'm going to say is that I don't really like Jacob Black. =) I can't wait for breaking dawn too! I hope there's a lot more Bella and Edward romance in that one, but either way I know I'm going to love it. =) (I also can't wait for the movie!!! UGHHH It's killing me that I have to wait 6 more months of movie-free torture! Lol) =)
Reply:Love the series to death!!
Reply:I think it's incredibly overhyped. I listened to an snippet of Twilight on Meyer's website, and I didn't like it.

My visual image of Edward is Sylvester Stalone, so I obviously don't like him. Bella is just..ew.
