Why does Jasper have so many scars?

In Eclipse, when Jasper tells the story about him and and the newborns, he shows Bella all the scars that he has. Why does he have so many, wouldn't it just have taken one bite to turn him into a vampire? Thanks for any and all answers :].

Remeber he sees the three girls when he was riding back and the small one bit him first and the other two joined in!

It did only take one bite to turn him and no the other two did not join in.


In the south their are constant wars.


For Territory's of the thicker red meaning more people for the vampire who owns the territory to feed off of without being noticed.


So he gets involved in these "wars" and all those other bites are from fighting other vampires.
Reply:No, you forgot part of his story. He was changed into a vampire before getting those scars. Jasper tells Bella that the only thing that scars vampires is other vampire's venom. So, he got all those scars after he became a vampire and was in the wars with the newborns.

he was already a vampire at that stage


and he was in the military before he was turned into a vampire so if scars carry from your human life then i imagine he would have a few from then

Reply:All the scars are from trying to kill the new borns. When he was attacking them , they would attack and sometimes be successful. They are also from bitting. The new born's where out of control and they would bit, even though they had no idea what the where doing.
