Twilight Question?

This is the part when the Cullens know that a coven (James's) is coming but they don't do anything. Why did Edward tell Bella to take her hair down? Wouldn't that make her scent more potent?
Twilight Question?
Im not sure, when I read it, I thought he just said that because he thought her hair looked better like that :\
Twilight Question?
I don't know why Edward had Bella's hair taken down. . .

But the Cullens were hoping that James's coven were just passing by. . . and they came earlier than expected, too.

They didn't know that James was a tracker, and again, they thought that the coven would arrive later.
Reply:They didn't have enough time to do anything and she put her hair down to hide her neck.
Reply:I think part of it was preventing her breath from being out in the open, and to make it less obvious that she has the face of a human...good question...

all I know is:

EDWARD'S AWESOME!

Anyway, I don't think it would make her scent any MORE potent, but was meant to disguise it...
Reply:Because the vampires manly attack the neck and that is where most of a humans "scent" is.
Reply:to hide her obvious human face.
Reply:i think he told her to put her hair down so she wouldn't expose her neck so much. it's true that her hair would still have a scent but by not exposing her neck she would be a little less tempting in a way. i hope this helps!
Reply:In a way, yes. Edward told her to take her hair down to cover her neck because that's where vampires usually attack from. But, if you remember, at that same part, the wind kicked up and caused Bella's hair to ruffle in the breeze, causing the vampires to stiffen.
Reply:I think it's not about the scent at all, I think Edward was just trying to hide her, make her inconspicuous, less noticeable, because he arranges her hair so that it covers her face, then Alice says "That won't help-- I could smell her across the field,"

That's my interpretation anyway. Hope it helps.
