Would you recommend getting a diary?

sure, it helps people to get things out of their system by writing. Like if they dont have any one to talk to or they dont want to talk about it they can just write about it.
Would you recommend getting a diary?
yes

why??

well, lets say i wrote in a diary when i was in elementary school, then in high school, i might say" wow, i really used to crush on that ugly boy??" and i mean its so fun to look, just like baby pictures.

SO yes i would recommend a diary, mostly in childhood days.
Would you recommend getting a diary?
well, do you have a lot of thoughts? do you have somewhere to hide it? would you be destroyed if someone found it? would it help you?

I had a diary and right before night, just writing down my cares and worries helped me sleep better. also, my attention wasn't on something else during the day. but, my sister found it, and i felt she found out everything about me that i just wanted left alone......ultimately, it's up to you
Reply:totally, its a thing you can vent to , and not get in trouble for!
Reply:Of course, if you want. Writing down what you do every day can be soothing, it can help solve problems... etc.

I myself prefer to keep an art journal (basically just a sketchbook) - I think I'm better at getting my thoughts out through visuals rather than words. Though, I don't really use it to express my thoughts; it's more of a place to experiment with new techniques, start sketches, that sort of thing.

There's all kinds of diaries/journals, too, besides the normal writing ones and the art one that I mentioned. You can keep a dream journal; instead of writing in a diary you can keep an audio diary (record what you would normally write in a diary onto a CD, or casette [do they still make casettes? haha]); you can keep a video diary.... there's virtually unlimited kinds of diaries.

Anyways -- sorry for getting off on a tangent -- get and keep a diary if you wish. It's your own personal preference. =)
Reply:I really recommend one. You can express your feelings. You can put down all the activities or vacations you have been on in your life. You can look back and remember everything, you have done. It really is good. You can write rumors, and get everything bad out. Just don't show anybody. Get a diary with a lock.!!
Reply:I would definately recommend getting a diary and writing in it every day. It really helps get rid of some of the pent up emotions that are nagging at you. Also, if you have a sudden inspiration for a project, song, poem, etc., a diary can help organize them. I have been keeping a diary ever since I was 7 years old! It's really fun looking back and reading about the little stuff that I thought was a HUGE deal, or the guys that I liked, or whatever.
Reply:i've tried but have never been able to keep one... but it does help you relieve stress
Reply:yes it helps you what haapened so you can luagh back on it which reminds me i need to go write in mine

Reply:I highly recommend that you start keeping a diary.

Don't listen to ppl who say diaries are lame.

There are so many benefits! Really!

1. You can improve your writing skills (or not, depending. I don't usually concentrate on writing well, and use short terms etc. in my writing, but it can still help).

2. It is an awesome keepsake. I started writing in one when I was in Gr. 1 up 'till now and when I go back I have to laugh. My spelling was atrocious. School was hilarious. I mean, the sort of fights I had with friends and what I thought was the end of the world - they all seemed so trivial.

3. It really helps store the memories through the point of view of yourself. Only you can know how it felt for you to go through whatever moment it was.

4. It helps you vent and get your feelings out. Once you put them down on paper you might, a) feel better or b) realize that whatever it is isn't serious or c) find a solution.

5. You can figure stuff out about yourself that you didn't know before.

6. It is all yours. Your secret. Just make sure no one else peaks!

7. You can make it unique. I like making lists and pasting cut-outs in. For me, it's like half a scrapbook. Ticket stubs, cut-out of magazine stuff for borders etc.

And, once you start you might realize you like it. Plus, what's wrong with giving it a try? What's there to lose! Try it yourself and figure it out yourself (whether it was worth it or not).

Good luck! Hope this helps!
