Children's story about Hamsters?

I've been planning on writing a children's story about hamsters.

In it a little boy is given a hamster for his birthday. He takes care of it, and plays with it, and everything is just peachy. (There will be lots of detailed illustrations, really fancy and full of color. More illustrations than text.) Then the hamster reaches sexual maturity and tires of the boy picking him up all the time, so he bites him. But the boy doesn't learn his lesson so the hamster eats his entire family.

You think kids would understand the moral?
Children's story about Hamsters?
NO!
Children's story about Hamsters?
I don't understand the moral!
Reply:No, but Richard Gere might. Pax-C
Reply:Too sick.

Take out the sexual maturity part and just make it that the morla is not to pick up your hamster to much.

Give it a funny ending when the hamster eats the little boy.
