crapp. haha.

umm...

freedom is slavery..

war is peace.

something is something.

no one has lives.

no one is allowed to have individual thoughts.

people are oppressed by a stifling, corrupt government

people are murdered, or rather "eliminated" for breaking laws and then are forgotten.

children are brainwashed.

adults are brainwashed.

lies by the government.

no emotion. no sex. no normal conversation.

every move watched by the telecaster thing.

no freedom.

the list goes on.
How does the language and symbols in the novel 1984 show human suffering?
In the society of "1984" all choice had been removed. Big Brother watched you so you couldn't choose to do anything different from the masses. Through Newspeak even your words were simplified to keep you from freedom of expression. Poetry becomes lifeless, song becomes meaningless, songs worthless. In my interpretation, the problem with the characters in 1984 was that they were NOT suffering. They had been completely absorbed into the machine. Suffering implies emotion and Big Brother had removed all emotion but fear.
