How has literature changed us?
How has literature changed us?
It has given people a whole new out look on what they do. Those affected actions are what makes history. i mean look at all the twilight fans who now believe in vampires? literature lets us divulge into a world that could never happen and lets us believe in the unbelievable. It has brightened our minds and let people express their feelings while helping others and just giving them an outlet. Its like television or technology or anything else in the world that has improved what we do and how we do it.
How has literature changed us?
Literature has opened windows in my soul that I didn't realize were there before I began reading in earnest. It's like there were all these vacant windows, their shades down and lights out. Once I began reading the possibilities began to seriously open up. The shades would go up and the lights turn on, sometimes one window at a time, other times multiple windows at once.
Reply:Everyone sees the world through different eyes. When we read "Gilgamesh" or the works of Shakespeare or Kurt Vonnegut or whoever our favourite authors are we briefly see things through their eyes (or at least the eyes of their characters). Through their words we can live vicariously the lives of other people in places far away and totally imagined. When I read Huck Finn as a kid I imagined myself floating down the river. When I read Treasure Island, I was fighting off pirates. A good piece of literature totally immerses me into someone else's world and when you've walked in someone else's shoes, you think about your own so much more.
Reply:Do you know what type of literature has changed me? It is Christian Literature. Starting from the informative books about love, courtship and marriage, these sensible advices gives me a positive and proper outlook about love. Leadership and inspirational books like Bo Sanchez's and John Maxwell's help me to define my hidden potential skills. It helps me to initiate that motivation comes first from my will power. One psychological and self-help book entitled Teen Esteem helped me to differentiate the different kinds of psychological disorder as I realized that coming from my own will power, I can overcome obstacles in my life.
